Jake Seltzer, M.S., M.Ed. Director. Jake, a former NCAA academic all conference athlete, has 14 years of teaching experience at low income public schools in the Bronx, Durham, NC and Oakland, California. He has served as basketball coach, teacher coach, professional development leader, internship coordinator, dean of students, department leader, Positive Behavior Intervention Lead and instructional leader. He has extensive experience in Social Emotional Learning and Social Justice focused curriculum design and facilitation. Jake taps into his teaching and leadership experience when developing all programs for Ball for Life Oakland.

Hector Navarro, Lead Coach. Hector, hailing from Harlem, NY, is a former NCAA basketball player and a basketball trainer with over 10 years of experience training and working with inner city youth. He has created and facilitated programs at NYC Parks and directed basketball operations for Young Vets, a local non profit. Hector is Yoga certified and incorporates mind, body, and skill development in training and curriculum. Hector has trained a wide range of players from beginner to professional players.
