• Jake Seltzer

    Jake Seltzer, M.S., M.Ed. Director. Jake, a former NCAA academic all conference athlete, has 14 years of teaching experience at low income public schools in the Bronx, Durham, NC and Oakland, California. He has served as basketball coach, teacher coach, professional development leader, internship coordinator, dean of students, department leader, Positive Behavior Intervention Lead and instructional leader. He has extensive experience in Social Emotional Learning and Social Justice focused curriculum design and facilitation. Jake also served as the Teaching and Learning Lead at Global Citizen Year where he led curriculum development, instructor development, instructor training and teaching and learning program design. Jake taps into his teaching and leadership experience when developing all programs for Ball for Life Oakland.

  • Anthony Ahedo

    Anthony Ahedo, a former collegiate athlete, has a degree specializing in childhood development. Anthony believes in the therapeutic and empowering benefits of athletics and has extensive experience leading youth sport programming, including America Scores, Street Soccer, and various programs for Ball for Life. Anthony’s coaching is grounded in an appreciation that every child is unique, bringing their own identities, gifts and experiences into their communities.

  • Corey Crutcher

    Corey, a former all-state athlete, has over a decade of experience in youth development and athletic training where he has helped youth in Michigan, New York, New Jersey, Florida and Oakland reach their full potential. He has led school based athletic programming in underserved schools as a Playworks coach and served in a student support and school culture role in the Oakland Unified School District. Corey incorporates his youth development and training expertise to empower young people through sport.

  • Stefanie Liang Chung

    Stefanie is an Oakland-based parent, teaching artist and educator with over 15 years experience working with elementary-aged youth. She draws from a colorful background in expressive arts, graphic design, event coordination, and experience/game design to bring unique programming to community events, schools, and camps. She is passionate about weaving social emotional tools, social justice, cultural awareness, restorative justice and healing practices into activities and lessons for kids. She is an original member of the Grammy-winning hip hop crew Alphabet Rockers and believes music, art and movement can be the most profound vehicles for change.
